We had a quick chat with a few of our newly American Council on Exercise (ACE) certified Personal Trainers.

Sean Hooi is a Mechanical engineer by day and freelance Personal Trainer by night. He joined Personal Trainer Development Program because he wanted to add value to himself and also inspire others to adopt the healthy lifestyle.

“Fitness its not a 3 month transformation , its a lifestyle. Learning at Fitness Innovations Malaysia (FITM) was great where the instructors were helpful, friendly and knowledgeable and I made really close friends who share the same goal.”

Reuben Lo is a full time rock nerd (that is what he called himself), Geologist working in the oil and gas industry. Reason for doing Personal Trainer Development Program: He wanted to take his knowledge about exercising to the next level and thought ACE Certified Personal Trainer would be a good qualification to have.

Reuben role played a difficult client during psychology and communication class.
So much laughters!

He told us one of the most important lesson he has learnt from the course was, personal training isn’t as simple and straightforward as it seems! “Well my initial thought was that personal training was just all about planning the exercises that the client does on a day to day basis. But after going through the course I realized that that’s only a small component to the training. A PT not only has to consider what exercises the client needs to do to achieve their goal but also address other major factors like adherence, diet, ability to complete/do the exercises outlined”

For Eugene Tan, it all started after going to the gym for about 3 years or so, he began to have a growing passion to help others as well! Previously a mechanic and now that he is ACE certified Personal Trainer, he is more confident when come to helping others.

He just went for an PT job interview in a large chain fitness centre, and hope to gain as much as experience he can get in his new fitness career. Eugene was excited for his potential new job as continuing education is encouraged during his employment!

Hazel Lim was already a fitness instructor for a PT studio in Klang Valley when she enrolled for Personal Trainer Development Program. After she passed the ACE exam and got certified as a Personal Trainer, she has more confident to make impact to people’s lives.

One of the main reason she joined the course was she wanted to learn more about the right thing to do in Personal Trainer Program Development as a Personal Trainer. “Helping people as a profession apparently make this job one of the happiest job in the world.”

“Learning at FITM affirms my passion for fitness and I am now more ready than ever to dedicate my life to share knowledge and experience with others, especially women. Thank you, FITM!” She is a strong believer of ‘learning never stops’, which in line with FITM’s tagline.

Sharol Lim, another working mom is a head hunter is a avid runner. After experiencing the positive changes of having an active lifestyle, she wanted to know how to help her friends to get fitter too. After being ACE PT certified, she has more exposure of different types of training and looking forward to start her own personal training service.
