Can I become a personal trainer?
Do I have to be fit?
What should I do to get started?

These are frequently asked questions we get from people inquiring about the career. On 15 December 2013, we had our very first career day (hosted by Jerrican Tan, Managing Director of FIT Malaysia). This significant day, aims to provide ample opportunities for regular exercisers to discover career in personal training. One of the best things in life is that you get paid for what you love doing. Best part of this event was the 7 special guests – who are very successful and distinctive personal trainers in the fitness industry sharing their unique thoughts of their career – start-up, marketing and career growth tips.

Who are these personal trainers?

In the career talk, we hear success stories behind these fitness personalities.

‘Getting someone who is already in the industry to help you get prepared for the real thing can be very helpful!’ said Noel, ACE Certified PT & Health Coach, ex- IT programmer turn personal trainer – Founder of dailymuscle.com

‘I had my friend as my first client and trained him for free. I learnt from my mistake and It made be a better personal trainer!’ said Lip Qin, ACE Certified PT who started off as physiotherapist undergraduate and now undergoing career placement.

What is the most important essence of a personal trainer?

All agreed on RAPPORT as priority, communication skills and knowledge as secondary factors of being a good personal trainer.

Awesome audiences we have!

One question that we discussed was,

Should I take Degree? or Certification?

Jerrican described Degree as ‘hardware’, and Certification as ‘software’. Certification courses basically prepare you for the job, from how to communicate with your clients to developing safe and effective program for them. On the other hand, Degree is for you to thoroughly understand the science behind sports and exercises.

After the talk, we had a free and easy interactive session for the audiences to chat with our fitness personalities. It was a great opportunity for the participants to get an insight of what the fitness personalities are doing.

Well, we had fun that day, we hope you guys did too! Once again, thanks for coming and we hope to see you soon in FiT!

Special thanks to our awesome team and Fitness Personalities!
