What is a better way to start a new year than attending a workshop on how to start your DREAM career? Last weekend, we have our ACE PT graduates here in FiT while Jerrican share his experience on how to brand and market yourself as a fitness professional.

What do you think of the workshop?

Josephine: I am really glad that I came for the workshop.  Jerrican’s willingness to share ‘what’s going on in the fitness industry’ and the examples of successful Malaysia PT businesses were an eye opener. This workshop is conducted in a way that is purposeful, helpful and has a lot genuine contents. This is definitely one of my best return for a 3 hours “investment’ of my time.

Au Kenn: It was indeed a great workshop. For someone like who was not from the fitness industry like me, it is a great eye opener. The topics covered gave me a good overview.

Vern: I think that the workshop was a very well structured talk to guide people who are new to the industry towards better planning for their potential career.

What would you do to your career now?

Josephine: I have a lot to do! Who says being a PT is only about training clients?

Au Kenn: This workshop has really inspired me to consider and launch my freelance PT business. However I do have a daytime job and as for the moment it will be done part-time.  Slowly if things does go well, it will eventually be the career path for me.

Vern: Like the start of anything, planning would be the first step, personally i will start by planning my target group and think about ways to reach out to them while marketing myself to fit their needs and achieve their fitness goal.

Are you confident now to start your own business after that career talk?

Josephine: I have completed the workshop with a very hopeful mind that I can run my own PT career better because I learnt what I should do and what mistake to avoid.

Au Kenn: Yes, with all the topics covered I am more confident now. I am less worried of making the wrong move.

Vern: Not to say that I’m very confident about starting my own business yet, but the career talk definitely gave me a handful of relevant factors to think about before even starting my own business, which would definitely help boost my confidence in setting up and growing my business in future.

Would you recommend this workshop to others? Why is that?

Josephine: Definitely yes. I have never come across any other workshop of its kind. Everyone attended this workshop/ or Jerrican’s class can feel his passion in sharing fitness knowledge and genuine interest to help his students to grow in Malaysia’s fitness industry. And he’s funny. =)

Au Kenn: Definitely a yes. The information shared is of great value. After all sharing is caring!

Vern: Definitely, having people with experience to educate students will bring lots of benefits to the table. This workshop can potentially teach students to foresee problems and solve them before they happen or at least be wary of issues relating to starting our own business. Also, it gave me a better picture on starting my own business now.
